Lakedale is a resort with seven types of lodging, acres, and acres of ground, crazy-fun activities, and special events. Located at 4313 Roche Harbor Rd, Friday Harbor, WA, Lakedale has been open and operating for ten years! At Lakedale, they want you to celebrate your magical love with a destination wedding set in nature on beautiful San Juan Island. Their 82 acres provide the ideal scenery of sky-high forests, golden meadows, and shimmering lakes for you to create the wedding festivities of your dreams. And if you can dream it, they can make it happen!

With dozens of stunning backdrops for your San Juan Island wedding venue, Lakedale offers various choices for your ceremony, reception, and all other wedding weekend events. Traveling to their natural wonderland is easy, being under 4 hours from Seattle, including a scenic ferry ride on the way there. You also have your pick of the most fun and luxurious lodging options on San Juan Island. All are within walking distance of the wedding venue.

Lakedale has an abundance of lodging options, including:

Ten newly remodeled lodge rooms,
Six two-bedroom/two-bath log cabins,
One lake house that sleeps 10,
Seven yurts with their private hot tubs,
Seven glamping canvas cottages with private baths,
15 glamping canvas cabins,
one airstream trailer,
39 campsites, and
five RV sites.

In the lodge rooms, you’ll find yourself in an elegant lakefront log lodge in the Pacific Northwest, being able to sink into sleep in their newly updated guest rooms, blended with elements of Northwest design: custom bed, comfy pillow-top mattress, flat-screen TV, private deck or balcony, gas fireplace, and jetted tub. Choose a room with a king bed overlooking the lake, two queen beds with lake views, or a suite with two bedrooms and woodland views. Four seasons of romance and relaxation are guaranteed.

All 82 acres of Lakedale are available for any part of your big day, whether it’s the actual ceremony or the reception! As for a weather alternative, The Lodge can suffice, depending on the event size. The room would need to reset for the reception due to inclement weather. Staff always recommend renting event tents for all planned outdoor receptions at their Friday Harbor, WA, wedding venue. This gives you the flexibility to enjoy nature while being protected from the elements! The Great Room also has beautiful wooden floors, perfect for a dance floor to feature your first couple’s dance on! The Lakehouse and/or one of the guest rooms near the Great Room can serve as a place for wedding guests and the bride and groom to change.

As San Juan Island’s leading wedding venue, with the ability to accommodate 80 to 200 people, Lakedale knows that your special day is only as good as the people who can make it happen. The Lakedale team offers services and experiences: helping to plan your adventures on the property and off, coordinating catering, flowers, photos, and more, ensuring to craft endless possibilities that will make your day entirely yours. Lakedale’s philosophy for weddings is to make it easy and fun!

The deposit for booking depends on the time of year and the size of the party. They require you to reserve specific accommodations with their wedding venue near Friday Harbor, WA. This will ensure that your event will be as private as possible. The types and number of accommodations required will vary depending on event size and the time of year. You’ll also need to book in advance depending on the time of year for your wedding.

Weekends from May through September in the San Juan Islands book up very quickly, often booked a year in advance. Lakedale will confirm all space requirements for your wedding ceremony and/or reception upon receipt of your signed contract and initial deposit. A countersigned copy of your contract with confirmed information will be returned to you after the posted deposit. If your dates are flexible, they offer discounts on facility fees and guestrooms between October 1 and May 1.

Payments & Cancellations For Your Lakedale Resort Wedding

The estimated balance due is required a minimum of thirty days in advance of the wedding date. Credit cards or personal checks suffice as payment methods. A customizable deposit schedule will be provided with your contract. You may settle any last-minute additional charges, beverage charges, or final guest room charges on the day of departure. Should you need to cancel, cancellations made less than sixty days before the event will be charged in full. Cancellations made within three months of the event will be charged 75% of the estimated facility and guest room charges. A 50% cancellation charge incurs within six months. Initial deposits are not refundable and are forfeited due to cancellation. Cancellation of guest room blocks incurs additional fees.

Ceremony Package

Should you choose a Lakedale Resort wedding, your Ceremony Package includes a one-hour rehearsal at no additional cost. This will be provided at a time that does not interfere with other booked events. You and the venue confirm the rehearsal time 60 days before the wedding. There is an additional facility fee if you would like to have a rehearsal dinner at the Lodge. Your facility fee covers much more than just the room rental fee. All wedding events include a one-hour ceremony and a one-hour rehearsal. For all receptions scheduled at the resort, they provide set up and take down of wedding chairs, reception tables and chairs, and staff on hand during your event. Your caterer must arrange service staff.

Accommodations

As for rooms for your guests, you and your event coordinator negotiate guest room rates depending on season, availability, day of the week, and the total number of rooms blocked. The group minimum is ten rooms. Once you settle upon a negotiated rate, the number of rooms determined, and the arrival and departure dates needed, the contract updates with this information, which outlines your wedding ceremony and reception space. Wedding party room rates are net, non-commissionable, and based upon single or double occupancy.
