Colorful Hall at Fauntleroy Wedding | Stephanie & Theo | Getting Ready & Portraits

Okay, get ready! This is the Single Most Colorful Wedding I have ever photographed in almost ten years and over 200 weddings in the Pacific Northwest! This gorgeous West Seattle wedding at the Hall at Fauntleroy features a rainbow of the bride’s favorite shades, a custom dress from Anomalie, balloons galore, macaroons, rose gold sequins, eighteen bridesmaids and groomsmen, and the loveliest bride and groom with the biggest smiles you’ve ever seen! I had to break the blog up into two parts because there was just too much color for one post! I’ve photographed dozens— if not a couple hundred!—weddings in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest, and I’ve never seen so much color on a wedding day. Stephanie used a rainbow of shades that perfectly suited her radiant personality and energy to pull together a wedding day that celebrated her and Theo’s story. Starting with a vision of “Kate Spade rides the New York Subway,” incorporating sequins and balloons and graphic stripes, Stephanie and Theo’s wedding was an effervescent explosion of joy and personality. Looking back at these photos, and the joy and laughter that permeated the day, I can’t help but smile!

Stephanie and Theo’s day began in a stylish AirBnB just across the street from the venue in West Seattle. Kelsey of Gather & Co. and Jane So of Beauty Expert Jane helped Stephanie and her retinue of bridesmaids get ready and create a glamorous hair and makeup look to complement their graphic black-and-white striped a-line dresses. Each gal was assigned a particular color that was reflected in her shoes (ladies’ choice), flowers, and respective ballon. You might recognize one of Stephanie’s gals as Jessica from her Woodinville Lavender wedding!

Stephanie’s incredible custom gown from Anomalie was envisioned by the bride and made just for her. Featuring rose-gold sequins, fabric cherry blossoms, layers upon layers of diaphanous tulle, and a charming blush bow, Stephanie’s dress perfectly suited her and added yet another layer of design and detail to the day. Theo wore a rose gold sequined bowtie, pocket square, and cummerbund to coordinate, and may I just say was the most dashing groom I’ve ever seen in sequins!

After getting ready at the AirBnb, we hopped over to Lincoln Park in West Seattle for some portraits, and from there to a nearby West Seattle mural the bride and groom had discovered! Obviously West Seattleites are probably familiar with the array of fruit, vegetables, and condiments on the side of Lee’s Produce, but it was new to me! The colors of the mural and graphic lines of the design made an amazing backdrop for more bridal party photos.

After the mural, we trekked a short distance back to the ceremony and reception site at the Hall at Fauntleroy. The Hall at Fauntleroy is such a perfect venue for a stylish Seattle wedding! Just outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown, the Hall at Fauntleroy’s location in laid-back West Seattle lends a more relaxed vibe to a city wedding. While you’re still close enough to Seattle for the convenience of accessing city vendors and transportation, the quiet neighborhood streets of West Seattle wedding allow for a calm and relaxed atmosphere. Next post coming soon — a joyful and colorful wedding ceremony and stylish reception featuring even more balloons, incredible food, some epic dancing, a rainbow of macaroons, and you might be surprised to hear, even more sequins!
