Vashon Island is a spectacular locale for couples looking for a wedding venue near Seattle! If you want to be near to the conveniences of the city and SeaTac airport but feel like you’re miles and miles away? Surrounded by the lush beauty of the Pacific Northwest, you’ll want to consider these Vashon Island wedding venues! They’re just a 20-minute ferry ride from the Fauntleroy dock in West Seattle to the Vashon Island terminal. Your guests will love the spectacular views of Puget Sound as they make their way to the little island!
This venue might be one of the most iconic PNW locations I’ve ever seen. Stunning views across the Puget sound, towering madrona trees, and acres of beautiful grassy lawns that turn golden in the late summer provide one of the most epic backdrops for a spectacular PNW wedding. The expansive meadow makes a perfect ceremony site, surrounded by towering alder and madrona trees that frame the water views. Private beach access, a kitchenette, a barbecue, fire pits, an outdoor shower, and a covered sleeping platform make this a venue ideal for a multi-day event. Guests and family can book multiple forms of accomodations to stay on-site, with tent and RV camping also available. The venue can accommodate up to 23 people for overnight lodging (not including tent/RV sites) and up to 500 guests for wedding day events.
I couldn’t pick what I love more — forests or gardens. Woodland Gardens offers the best of both! Woodland Gardens is a perfect spot for an idyllic forest wedding with multiple options for your ceremony site and room for a stylish tented reception. The venue also offers a spacious lawn, a bridal getting-ready suite, on-site accommodations, and is handicap accessible for all your guests! Lisabeula is just minutes down the road if you also want photos with water views in the background!
The beautiful, lush landscaping at Froggsong Gardens offers a picturesque backdrop for a verdant island garden wedding. It is a part of the Herban Feast collective of venues.
Located on the southern portion of Vashon Island overlooking Quartermaster Harbor, Lavender Hill Farm is an enchanting location for small wedding ceremonies. Ceremonies can be held on the large flat lawn surrounded by blooming lavender in the early to mid-summer. The porch of the historic craftsman house provides a perfect place for buffet suppers, cocktails, and music. Stunning views of the water, Mount Rainier, and the surrounding lavender fields create a stunning pastoral atmosphere.
If you love being right on the water, Villa Vashon offers a waterside lawn for beautiful outdoor receptions! There is even a tiny beach if you want to get married on the sand at low tide. Just a few minutes walk from the Fauntleroy ferry terminal, the private residence was built in 1910 and renovated in 2009. Views over the water of Seattle, the Puget sound, and the ferries provide an iconic backdrop.
If you want to get adventurous and find a location for spectacular portraits that really showcase the beauty of the PNW, there are many parks and public spaces on Vashon that are easily accessible! Lisabeula Park, Jenson Point, KVI Beach/Point Heyer, Point Robinson (adorable lighthouse), Wingehaven, Fern Cove, and Maury Island Regional Park are some options.
