Lifestyle Newborn Portraits | Baby Anna

This little girl is such a delightful bundle of love and a dash of attitude! I only do a couple of newborn sessions each year, so when my sweet friend and former bride Emily asked me to photograph her second baby, I was so excited! Okay, I *may* have strongly hinted that I would just be showing up with my camera and a basket if she didn’t ask, and Emily so sweetly allowed me to photograph little Anna! I like to keep newborn sessions really simple, with pretty minimal posing and props. Give me a window, a basket, and some white blankets and I’m a happy girl! Anna, however, wasn’t so sure about this portrait session at first. She was very alert for being just a few days old, and it took a little rocking and snuggling with mama to sooth her to sleep. One of my favorite images is the one where she opened her eyes slightly with a little frown, as if to say, “What is going on here?!” Once we let her stretch her little arms up over her head though, she was perfectly relaxed and content! Welcome to the world, little one!
