Carrara & Terrel’s Kitsap Memorial State Park Wedding was an enchanted forest fairytale! If you’re looking for a Washington State Forest Wedding Venue, you want to consider Kitsap Memorial State Park. As a Kitsap Peninsula Wedding Photographer,
Carrara & Terrel planned their wedding while living out of the state and attending school. As they both pursued education and careers in horticulture, they wanted their wedding to reflect the incredible botany and forests of Western Washington. And did it ever! Their dream Washington State Forest Wedding came together beautifully at this gorgeous Kitsap Peninsula venue. Tucked along the Hood Canal with views of the eastern slopes of the Olympic Mountains, Kitsap Memorial State Park is something of a hidden gem. Just a 30-minute ferry ride from either downtown Seattle or the Edmonds Ferry Terminal, and then about 30 minutes of driving to the western side of the Kitsap Peninsula and you’re there! Kitsap Memorial State Park is far enough to feel like a remote woodland escape, yet still close enough for a day-trip from Seattle and the Eastside.
Once you’ve arrived at Kitsap Memorial State Park, there are myriad sites at the venue for a forest wedding ceremony. Carrara and Terrel chose to hold their ceremony under the towering Douglas Fir trees in one of the more densely forested parts of the park. The park also provides a spacious lodge, so an indoor ceremony is an option in inclement weather! Thankfully, this wedding day was gorgeous and sunny. Guests were able to enjoy gorgeous warm weather while they observed the ceremony while sitting under the evergreen forest canopy.
While the park, lodge, and forest are a stunning location for a dream forest wedding, Washington State Parks are not a full-service venue option. If you’re planning a wedding at one of Washington State’s Parks, you’ll need to think about hiring the best vendors to really provide a great experience for your guests. A wedding planner who knows the area well is a great place to start! One of my favorites in Washington State happens to be located close to Kitsap Memorial State Park: Chloe Mosey Events is based in Bremerton and available for travel throughout Western Washington. A great planner is the first step to a stress-free wedding day for both the bride and groom, and their guests.
Once you have a planner in mind, they’ll help you think through all the necessary vendors and logistics you’ll need for your wedding day. From the florist to the DJ to the caterer, it’s crucial to hire high-quality, reputable vendors so your day goes as smoothly as possible. They’ll be able to anticipate and solve any problems that may arise before you’re even aware of them!
Carrara and Terrel infused so much emotion into their wedding day ceremony. Through tears, they promised their futures to one another. Sharing in moments like these has me pinching myself that my sweet couples invite me to share in one of the most precious days of their lives! Having the chance to witness the tears and joy and sheer elation of a wedding ceremony like this one never fails to stop me in my tracks!
