If I’m not behind a camera, I’m usually somewhere making a creative and crafty mess, adventuring with my little fam outside, or trying to make my home look more like Fixer Upper. I’m a pre-prequels Star Wars nerd (I read almost every book in high school--yes, there were books in addition to the movies!), I’ll do anything and everything for the people I love (family doesn’t end in blood), I'm a newbie runner, Podcast-obsessed, unrepentant coffee-addict.

Are you considering a Lake Crescent Lodge wedding? Lake Crescent Lodge is certainly one of the most spectacular locations within Olympic National Park, and an ideal spot for a wilderness lakeside wedding in the Pacific Northwest.
Whether you're opting for an intimate elopement, a small ceremony with just a handful of your nearest and dearest, or all your friends and family, Lake Crescent Lodge can accomodate you and a sizable guest list. The property boasts 55 guest rooms, including the historic Lodge itself, and a scattering of quaint lakeside cabins. Additionally, there are several larger buildings with hotel rooms tucked into the surrounding forest.
The real attraction, though, is Lake Crescent itself. Stunning 180-degree views from the lodge itself extend west and northward. making the beach in front of the main lodge an ideal spot to watch the spectacular Olympic Peninsula sunset. Additionally, there are trails throughout the nearby woods that allow you to explore the old-growth forests and mountainsides. If you're ambitions, you can even hike Storm King mountain. From the summit you can see panoramic views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, the Olympic Mountains, and the hills of Vancouver Island to the distant north.
If your guests arrive the day prior or stay a day after your wedding, they can rent kayaks, canoes, or paddleboards and explore the lake close-up. During the warmest months of the year you can swim in the lake. But be forewarned that the glacially-fed waters stay cool year-round. The Lodge's location is also idea for exploring the nearby coast to the north and west. It's also a short trip to the spectacular Olympic Mountains, Hurricane Ridge, Hoh Rain Forest, and Sol Duc Hot Springs.
A Wedding Day at Lake Crescent Lodge
But back to Lake Crescent Lodge—as far as scenic destination wedding locations in the PNW, it's hard to beat. Weddings can be held May-September in a secluded meadow a 5-minute walk from the Lodge itself. In fall/winter or inclement weather, a small ceremony can take place in the Lodge's greatroom. The east lawn can accomodate larger receptions inside an elegant tent, while smaller groups can dine inside the Lodge's restaurant.
On your wedding day, you'll likely get ready in one of the quaint cabins. I love to allow time with each couple to walk along the lakeshore for scenic portraits. Numerous small trails also allow easy exploration of the surrounding forests. Depending on the time of year and the number of guests in attendance, your ceremony might take place in a secluded lakeshore meadow or in front of the Lodge's stone fireplace. There are dozens of locations you could use for a smaller wedding, including the gorgeous dock that extends off shore. The tiny peninsula created by Barnes Creek would make an epic spot for an elopement, especially during the summer when the water levels are slightly lower.

How Many Hours Should I Schedule for My Wedding/Elopement?
Most couples start with four hours for getting ready + the elopement ceremony itself. Then I recommend adding one additional hour per location plus travel time in between! You can book anywhere from 2 to 12 hours depending on the variables and itinerary of your elopement -- contact me if you need any ideas or suggestions!

Amazing! Adrien was amazing! Literally from start to finish I could not have asked for a better photographer. She is so kind and caring and really goes above and beyond for her clients. She worked with us to make the day exactly what we wanted. She even ended up staying a little extra than planned when we last minute decided to have a sparker send off - and they were some of the best pictures of the day. I ended up with a huge wedding album because I honestly couldn't decide from all the hundreds and hundreds of truly incredible photographs. She worked with our complex family dynamics and made even the craziest of family complications and photos run smoothly. Couldn't have asked for a better photographer. Adrien is truly a Pacific Northwest gem! Like the laidback, unfussy beauty of the region, Adrien is truly a calming spirit and can find the beauty is the most ordinary of views. This woman is incredibly talented. I came across Adrien in early February as I was researching photographers. Adrien Craven was the best wedding decision I made, by far (besides the husband choice of course)... My husband and I were hoping to get maybe one or two good photos that we could hang on our wall; instead, Adrien gave us hundreds of consistently gorgeous photos to choose from. She knows how to capture light in such a way that gives her pictures a magical glow you can’t help but love and stare at for hours. Like many brides, my wedding day flashed before my eyes quicker than I could keep up with. That being said, I remember the exact moment I heard that Adrien had arrived, because I shouted “OH NO!” so loud people probably thought I burned my face with the curling iron... The day was already in a state of chaos, she had no direction from me whatsoever, people were scattered everywhere, and yet there she was… perfectly calm, smiling back at me, like she didn’t even notice the giant tornado blazing past her. I have a long history of always making a weird face right as the camera flashes (a running joke amongst my friends and family), but Adrien made me appear absolutely glamorous. Seriously though, from the first day she joined the team, Adrien was professional, creative, and extremely reassuring. She was knowledgeable about our venue (in West Seattle) and photogenic spots in the area, helped us plan out a reasonable photo schedule to accommodate our ginormous wedding party, and worked seamlessly with us and our planner and venue. On the day of the wedding, she was unflappably calm, upbeat, and helped everyone feel totally comfortable. We had several hurdles including me supplying her with a super last-minute list of "oh by the way could we try to get these photos in???" (my bad sorry), bouquets being forgotten at one point, balloons tangling in the wind, etc, but Adrien kept everyone laughing and having fun and our photos absolutely reflect that.
