Fireseed Catering Wedding on Whidbey Island in Washington

Get ready for a gorgeous Whidbey Island Fireseed Catering wedding! If you’re not familiar with Whidbey Island, it’s accessible by ferry at the south end and by bridge from the Washington State mainland at the north. Of course, any trip involving a ferry is a magical experience, in my mind! Whenever I’m headed to Whidbey, I choose the route that takes me from the Mukilteo ferry dock to the Clinton terminal on Whidbey island. The crossing is a short 20 minutes. But be sure to make a lap around the top deck for the best views of the Puget Sound!

Getting to a Fireseed Catering Wedding

Once you disembark the ferry at the Clinton terminal, the drive to your Fireseed Catering wedding goes by quickly. You’ll approach the venue along a driveway lined with towering evergreens. Tucked away under the dense forest of firs and cedar, Fireseed feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle of the city. As someone who loves gardens, it was immediately evident to me how much care goes into the landscaping! There are acres of gorgeous perennial gardens surrounding the venue itself. The ceremony lawn is surrounded on three sides with seasonal blooms, and on the fourth by a sweeping view of the adjacent fields.

While in my humble opinion, there’s no better time than summer for a Whidbey Island Wedding, Fireseed Catering boasts ample indoor space for a shoulder or winter-season wedding as well. Whether you’re thinking about having a cool indoor respite from rare summer heat, or a dry and cozy winter wedding, Fireseed offers plenty of stylish inside spaces for your wedding day.

A Summer Whidbey Island Wedding

The couple had their first look in the gorgeous perennial gardens, followed by a relaxed walk around the extensive property for portraits. A few of the locations I really loved were the boardwalk into the marsh and the natural tunnel created by a grove of silver-leafed trees.

After more portraits with all the bridesmaids and groomsmen, the bride and groom had some quiet time together before the ceremony. The gorgeous wedding ceremony then took place on Fireseed Catering’s beautiful lawn, where the couple said their vows under a chuppah festooned with greenery and garlands by Sonshine Farm, a local Whidbey Island floral farm. After a joyous recessional up the aisle, the bride and groom joined their guests for a cocktail hour on the lawn. Fireseed provided the most delicious custom cocktail I’ve ever had — a cherry amaretto sour. And it was just as pretty as it tasted!

Once everyone moved into the elegant barn for dinner, the reception really got underway. With upbeat music from Casual Bowtie and energetic dancing, the festivities continued late into the night! Fireseed Catering ended the wedding day with a sparkler sendoff for the bride and groom.
