I love photographing weddings on San Juan Island! From Roche Harbor to Saltwater Farm to Lime Kiln State Park, San Juan Island offers gorgeous scenery and incredible venues for both intimate or grand destination weddings. If you want to share the beauty of the Pacific Northwest with your friends and family, San Juan Island is the perfect place!
The ferry ride from Anacortes is only the start of the journey to your San Juan Island wedding day. After disembarking from the ferry in the quaint town of Friday Harbor, you can head out of town to tour the spectacular scenery of the island. Towards the south you'll find the windswept grassy fields of Cattle Point and American Camp. Along the west coast of the island you can visit Lime Kiln Point and the historic lighthouse there that currently serves as a whale watching and research station. In the north are British Camp and Roche Harbor, an atmospheric destination that serves tourists via both land and sea.
Centrally located on the island are the beautiful venues of Lakedale Resort and Saltwater Farm. Surrounded by towering fir forests and rolling farmland, both Lakedale and Saltwater offer stunning scenery for the backdrop of your wedding day.

As a San Juan Island wedding photographer, I love showcasing the beauty of the islands along with all the emotion and detail of every wedding day! The spectacular natural light and gorgeous scenery of the rocky coastline, sheltered coves and inlets, windswept evergreen forests, and charming island villages are the most atmospheric backdrop to an iconic Pacific Northwest wedding day. I’ve been visiting the San Juan Islands since childhood, and they hold a special and magical place in my heart!
I use a mix of photojournalistic and directed photography to document every wedding day with the aim of capturing romantic, emotional, and vibrant images for every couple to cherish. One of my main goals as a wedding photojournalist is to capture the day as it unfolds naturally, telling the story of your relationship and the family and friends you’ve chosen to gather around you to celebrate the beginning of your marriage.
During every San Juan Islands wedding, I’m looking for the beautiful details and moments that capture honest, authentic reactions and emotions throughout a wedding ceremony and reception. From the wedding party’s outfits to the flowers and decor and treasured loved ones who have often traveled great distances, I’m so aware of how much thought and meaning is imbued into every element of a wedding day. I’m there to capture all of it in an unobtrusive and graceful way.

The San Juan Islands are a grouping of islands located in remote northwest Washington State. Surrounded by the Salish Sea, with Canada to the north, the mainland of Washington State to the east and southeast, and the Olympic Peninsula directly south, the San Juans are rich in breathtaking Pacific Northwest scenery, local island culture, and storied history. The island towns retain a small town charm and idyllic atmosphere, making them an ideal destination for a Seattle destination wedding, as well as a dream location for any photographer who aims to showcase the natural beauty of the area.
The San Juan Islands have dozens of unique and varied wedding venues to choose from! Whether you’re looking for the style and charm of a village wedding or the scenery of a seaside or farmstead wedding venue, there are so many options to choose from.
On San Juan Island, the Roche Harbor Resort offers gorgeous gardens along with luxury hotel accommodations. With its own secluded ocean cove and adjacent marina, Roche Harbor features a private courtyard, seaside gardens, a gazebo room, and historic chapel and lime kilns.
On the southern portion of San Juan Island, Saltwater Farm’s beautiful property features modern architecture and a lush garden that supplies incredible island produce for rustic, farm-to-table cuisine. The venue’s ceremony lawn overlooks the azure ocean while the spacious barn can host large receptions featuring their gorgeous wooden tables.
Lakedale Resort, just a few minutes north of the town of Friday Harbor, offers an incredible property for a multi-day event featuring a variety of accomodations. The main lodge offers rooms and suites, while your more adventurous guests can stay in comfortable glamping tents or traditional camping tent sites. The property is surrounded by a bucolic lily-pad covered lake and sheltered by towering douglas fir and cedar forests.
These are just a few of the lovely wedding venues on San Juan Island!
