Mackenzie & Ernie | NatureBridge at Lake Crescent | Part 1

There’s just no way I could pick a favorite 2014 wedding—but if you twisted my arm and bribed me with chocolate covered espresso beans, I might mention Mackenzie and Ernie’s magical wedding day at NatureBridge on Lake Crescent. NatureBridge is a amazing local secret tucked away on the shores of Olympic National Park’s Lake Crescent, about 30 minutes west of Port Angeles on the scenic Olympic Peninsula. Historic cabins are nestled under a canopy of mossy maple trees, colored in bright pastels and harkening to a bygone era. Canoes are available to paddle through the sapphire waters of the glacial lake, and if you’re brave you can take a dip in the chilly blue water. Something about the day felt as though we were transported to another time, a time outside of time, where the moments slowed down and stretched out in the golden-honey light. The hustle and bustle of daily life were so far away they were absolutely forgotten. Mackenzie and Ernie’s friends and family gathered at the sprawling NatureBridge property for a weekend of lakeshore activities, canoeing, bonfires & s’mores, hiking on wooded trails, and lawn games in the meadow. And that gown! Dozens of layers of tulle in the softest shade of blush. I’m a sucker for a pretty dress, and this is one that will stay with me for a while. From the enchanting dress to the little girls in rosebud crowns to the bevy of maids in shades of aquamarine and cerulean, I felt like I had stepped into a fairytale.
